| The hinged card is
a novel concept from Brite iD. It is designed for ID, travel
and multi-application cards where more information is required
than can be printed on a standard ID1 card. The card is available
in any size from ID1 up to ID3. It can be supplied with or
without a contactless chip and is ideal as a highly durable
alternative to paper based folded cards.
The construction of the card is:
- Inner layer of inkjet printable polyester
- Antenna screen printed to the polyester
layer
- Contactless chip module
- Elastomer core, which surrounds the contactless
module to provide maximum protection to the chip.
- Outer layer of inkjet or litho printable
polyester
Features:
- Double the print area compared to standard
ID1 cards for personal information, instructions for use
or promotional messages
- Excellent protection against damage of
the chip or antenna in daily use
- As no adhesive is used, it is not possible
to separate the outside layers from the core without damage.
Cutting through the polyester layer to access the chip will
destroy the antenna
- Anti-skimming device to prevent reading
of the chip when closed
- Variable information can be inkjet printed
(e.g. in a visa printer) or hand infilled
- Highly durable compared to paper based folded
cards and ideal for use in hot or humid environments
- Variable information can be protected
against alteration by holographic overlay
